50th Reunion almost here!

Our plans are complete, we only need YOU now.   The deadline for the Memory Book is fast approaching, 8/5/12, and we want you included in our book.   We've received many responses and I've enjoyed reading your stories.   I feel like I know all of you, even those I never knew in High School.  The book will be distributed the evening of the dinner-dance.  But we are missing many of you and we want to hear from you.

2012 Saints of the Sixties Cocktail Party

We are returning this year to the Crab Pot Seafood Restaurant for our annual COCKTAIL PARTY. It is located at 215 North Marina Drive, Long Beach, CA 90803; 562 430-2072; crabpotlongbeach.com

WHEN: FRIDAY, September 16, 2011
HAPPY HOUR is from 4 - 7 p.m.. So this year we are gathering earlier than in the past. Someone will be there by 4:00 with purple and white balloons. So come early and stay as long as you wish. We'll be out on the patio overlooking the bay.

ALL "SAINTS OF THE SIXTIES" are invited and we love to see all of you each year. Help spread the word by connecting with friends and letting them know. For the Class of 1961...it's a great way to warm up to your reunion the following week. For the Class of 1962...it's a good way to break the ice with fellow classmates that you've missed for many years. Our reunion committee is in full swing on plans for 2012 50th Class Reunion and you won't want to miss it. Start catching up now!

The Class of 1962 has set the date and place for our 50th reunion. Please SAVE the DATE: Saturday, September 15th, 2012. We are excited that we will be having it at the Long Beach Yacht Club with wonderful views of the marina.

Class of 1962 - 50th Reunion

Work will begin in January on our 50th Class Reunion. I am looking for volunteers to help out in any way. If you have a talent or expertise in a field that you think would benefit our Class, please send me an email at Saints1962@att.net.

COMMITTEE: Are you interested in being on the planning committee? Would like to but don't live in the area? Not a problem as I'm sure we'll come up with jobs that can be done from out of town. If you're local, what's the best time to meet for you? Can you meet during the day vs evening?

VENUE - FOOD - MUSIC: Do you have special connections that would help us in obtaining discounted services? Any suggestions on Venue, Food (sit down/buffet & type) or Music Groups/DJ's?

WEBSITE: Do you have skills to create a website for our reunion? Know someone who we could work with to do this for free or reasonably priced?

COMPUTER SKILLS: Memory Book, Name Tags etc.

IDEAS: Any idea is welcome. We'll consider all suggestions! Please flood my email!!!

Best Cocktail Party Ever...

September 11th, 2010's "Saints of the Sixties" cocktail party at the Gaslamp was the best ever. We probably had close to 60 classmates at our informal gathering on the patio from classes of 1959 to 1968. The majority were from 1960, 1961 and 1962. It was nice seeing more of 1960 there this time as it also was the weekend of their 50th Class Reunion.

SAVE THE DATE: 9/11/10 - Cocktail Party

Many of you have been asking if we'll have a cocktail party this year. Here it is...just secured the date!

It's time to start making your plans to attend our annual "Cocktail Party". The last 4 parties have been a lot of fun and as word gets out, more and more of our 60's classmates will stop by. Again it will be at the Gaslamp Restaurant and Bar on the corner of Loynes Dr. and PCH (right next to the Best Western Golden Sails Inn). Mark your calendar now for Saturday night, 9/11/10 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m on the outside patio.

This year's date coincides with the Class of 1960's 50th Class Reunion which is on Friday night. So, it is a good way for many out of towners to join in on the fun with other classmates of the '60's.

Saints Staying in Touch

Just received this photo from Tom Dunn taken at the Eagle Castle Winery near Paso Robles two years ago. They all stayed at the Paso Robles Inn for two nights and did some wine tasting and lots of catching up. On Saturday, October 23, 2010 St. Anthony High School will celebrate it's 90th Anniversary Celebration and Hall of Fame! The Committee is planning a spectacular SAHS Courtyard event to mark this significant milestone in the history of our beloved Alma Mater. The Emperors, a locally renowned band, will provide music for the evening. We hope to see you all there!

Saints Band Together in Support of Classmate (1962)

Several of Kerry Eckholdt Dusserre's 1962 Classmates joined other SA Alumni with faculty and staff from St. John Bosco High School in support of Kerry's second battle against cancer. Both Kerry and her husband, Marty (1959 SA Alumni) who work at St. John Bosco, walked along side the Team of Kerry's Krusader's. It was a beautiful day in which we joined thousands of others in the Revlon 5K Run/Walk for Cancer on May 8th, 2010.

Saints from 1962 Gather for 3rd Annual Luncheon

May 1st, 2010 local Saints from the Class of 1962 gathered together for the third annual "Gal's Luncheon" at the home of Vicki Bescos Payne in Laguna Niguel. There were about 25 gals all chatting at the same time. A light luncheon was served on a gorgeous Spring afternoon. After lunch we gathered in a circle and each gal had a chance to share something about their life. Many spoke of what they're doing in retirement; upcoming and past travels; how St. Anthony's prepared them for life; and how important faith is in their lives today. Over the past few years, because of these gatherings, our friendships have rekindled and deepened as we have shared stories of our lives. For more information email Saints1962@att.net.

Successful Saints 2009 Summer's End Cocktail Party

It was a wonderful summer evening once again at the Gaslamp in Long Beach. Saints came from the classes of 1959 to 1964. Do you recognize anyone? I always learn things about friends when we were young at these events. I realize we were all very much alike and different at the same time. Plan on coming next year...
